尊証法親王〈そんしょうほうしんのう・1651-94〉は、後水尾天皇〈ごみずのおてんのう・1596-1680〉の第十七皇子。玲瓏宮と称した。６歳の時に青蓮院に入室、万治３年〈1660〉に親王宣下を受ける。同年、剃髪して尊証と号す。第182代・第189代と二度、天台座主をつとめ、元禄７年〈1694〉、44歳で没した。この懐紙は、延宝６年〈1678〉正月19日、霊元天皇主催の禁中御会始の時のもの。親王28歳。重厚な筆致に親王の能書の才を見る。「「霞、春色を添う」ということを詠める和歌／尊証／八重霞今日九重に色添へてたちかへるてふ春ののどけさ」
