近衛信尋〈このえのぶひろ・1599-1649〉は、江戸時代初期の公卿。後陽成天皇〈ごようぜいてんのう・1571-1617〉の第四皇子で、母は中和門院前子。後水尾天皇〈ごみずのおてんのう・1596-1680〉は同母兄。慶長10年〈1605〉８月27日、伯父近衛信尹〈このえのぶただ・1565-1614〉の養嗣子となり、翌日、元服して信尋と名乗る。時に７歳。元和９年〈1623〉、弱冠25歳にして関白・氏長者となる飛躍的な累進ぶりを見せた。洒脱な人となりで茶道を学んで能くし、画にも巧みな風流人であった。また、書において養父信尹の薫陶をうけ、筆跡が酷似するに至った。この詠草の書風も、信尹直伝の、豪放で歯切れのよい、まさに近衛流の典型を示している。早春の一日、連歌会出席のためのもので、五・七・五の長句と七・七の短句二つをしたためる。「花にさぞ心やゆらぐ玉簾／信尋／疎む人さへとふ春の宿／なれきてうれし庭の鴬」
