鰐口（わにぐち）は、古くは金鼓（こんぐ）といい、ほかに金口・打響・打具・打鳴・打金などとも呼ばれる。仏殿や神社の社殿の前の軒に掛けるもので、銅製または鉄製の円形中空につくられる。その前面に鉦（かね）の緒（布製の長い縄）を下げ、参拝人がその緒の下の端を持って振り鳴らす。鉦鼓（しょうこ）を２つ合わせた形で、下方に一文字の裂口があり、鰐の大口に形状が似るところから、この名がある。上辺の左右につるすための耳がつけられ、内区・外区を紐状であらわし、中央には蓮華をかたどった撞座（つきざ）がある。この鰐口には、外区に「奉十五社中」（十五社中に奉る）、「延元二年〈1337〉三月七日」の寄進銘が彫られている。制作年代を推知できる貴重な遺品の１つである。
