Myo-Oh are deities reverd by practititoners Esoteric Buddhism, believed to chastise those who defy Buddhist teachings and to convert obdurate nonbelievers. Typically, they are represented with many faces, many arms, and flame-like hairstyle, and hold weapons in their hands.Fudo Myo-oh is the central figure among the Five Great Myo-oh (Godai Myo-oh) usually depicted with a halo of fire behind him, a sword in his right hand, kensaku (a rope with five different colord strands) in his left hand as well as glaring facial expression. He became one of the most worshipped deities in many Esoteric Buddhist temples following the Heian Period.
