好仁親王〈よしひとしんのう・1603-38〉は、後陽成天皇〈ごようぜいてんのう・1571-1617〉の第七皇子。母は中和門院前子〈ちゅうかもんいんさきこ・1575-1630〉。後水尾天皇〈ごみずのおてんのう・1596-1680〉や近衛信尋〈このえのぶひろ・1599-1649〉らの実弟にあたる。慶長17年〈1612〉親王宣下を受け、名を斉祐（なりすけ）と称した。元和元年〈1615〉に元服、名を好仁と改め、弾正尹（だんじょうのいん）に任ぜられた。寛永２年〈1625〉23歳のとき、新しく高松宮家（たかまつのみやけ・有栖川宮家の旧称）を創立し、初代となった。その書は『本朝古今名公古筆諸流』（『万宝全書』所収）に示すとおり、近衛流を前面に押し出した遺墨も伝存する。が、この短冊は「斉祐」と署名するところから、10～13歳頃の手によるものとなり、近衛流（三藐院流）の書法を会得する以前、幼少の頃に伝統的な持明院（じみょういん）流を学んでいたことを知る。「擣衣を聞く（布帛をしなやかにし、つやを出すために、きぬたにのせて槌でうつこと）」の歌題は、後水尾天皇の筆になるもの。
