軽量の薄板を彫り抜いて意匠が造形され，彩色も豊かである．持ち手の上には，鮮黄色の衣服をまとった西欧人の姿が表現されている．男女1 対で，男性の服装は船員の制服に見える．19 世紀に入ると，航海者や商人，宣教師，学者が頻繁にこの地を訪れるようになり，なかには家族連れの滞在もあったことから，西欧人の夫婦を表象したと考えられる．男性人形の上には円錐形の胴部に腰蓑を付けた人形（ひとがた）が配されており，ドゥクドゥクを連想させる．ドゥクドゥクは当地の男性秘密結社と密接に結びつく儀礼で，女性の加入は許されない．女性人形の飾り板には同様の意匠がないことと関連があるかもしれない．類例の舞踏用手持ち板より小ぶりであり，西欧人を描く意匠の特異性を考えると，土産物か玩具として制作された可能性も浮かぶ．

As a prototype feature, the Keio Object Hub uses AI (machine learning) to generate keywords for searches and filtering.
For the first launch, Google Cloud's Vision API will be used to analyze the images of each object and automatically generate keywords.
