華鬘（けまん）は、仏殿の内陣の長押（なげし）などにかける荘厳具。もとは生花を結び、輪にして首にかけた装身具であった。が、仏前に供えるようになり、材質も恒久化し、荘厳具に転じた。形態はおおむね団扇（うちわ）形、紐を総角（あげまき）風に中央に結び飾って、唐草文や蓮華文を切り透かしたものが多い。これは、金銅製の団扇形で横幅が広く、蓮の花が咲き乱れる文様が施され、中央部分に総角状の紐を結ぶ形がつくられたもの。銘より、貞享元年〈1684〉２月に羽州最上寒河江（さがえ。いま山形県寒河江市）の宇井佐次兵衛（未詳）なる人物が菩提を弔うために製作したものと判明する。
