文殊菩薩は、智慧をつかさどる菩薩、また、普賢菩薩は、一切諸仏の理法（教え）と行願（衆生の救済や自らの悟りなどの誓願とそのための実践修行）を代表する菩薩で、ともに釈迦如来の一生補処（つぎに如来になることが約束されている）菩薩として篤く信仰され、古来、釈迦如来の脇侍として、三尊形式の仏画・仏像につくられた。本図は、ともに白雲に乗って斜め向きに進む構図に描かれる。仏菩薩が信仰者の前に姿を現す影現・影向などと呼ばれる図様と考えられる。文殊菩薩は、獅子の背上の蓮華座に坐して経巻を開いて読誦する姿、また普賢菩薩は、白象の上の蓮華座に坐して両手で如意を持つ。獅子や白象のうずくまった形や描法・筆致などに中国の宋元画の影響が見られるところから、禅宗系統の絵仏師による作と思われる。

For the first launch, Google Cloud's Vision API will be used to analyze the images of each object and automatically generate keywords.
