良尚法親王〈りょうしょうほうしんのう・1622-93〉は、八条宮智仁親王〈はちじょうのみやとしひとしんのう・1579-1629〉の第２王子。智忠親王〈としただしんのう・1620-62〉の弟。寛永11年〈1634〉親王宣下を受ける。同年曼殊院（まんしゅいん）に入室。法諱を良尚とし、伯父の良恕法親王〈りょうじょほうしんのう・1574-1643〉に次いで、第30代の門跡となる。正保３年〈1646〉天台座主（第175代）となる。明暦２年〈1656〉、幕府の奏請により、京都にあった門室を洛北一乗寺村（京都市左京区一乗寺竹内町）に移し、中興開基と呼ばれた。また、その地名から竹内（たけのうち）門跡の呼称がおこった。寛文５年〈1665〉灌頂を遂げ大阿闍梨となったが、貞享４年〈1687〉、退院。元禄６年〈1693〉７月５日、72歳で寂した。狩野尚信〈かのうなおのぶ・1607-50〉について絵を学び、和歌・茶道・香道などにも造詣が深かった。書は後柏原院（ごかしわばらいん）流に属するが、この短冊に見えるように、上代様（じょうだいよう）の香りをとどめた流麗な書風を示す。
