鴨祐為〈かもすけため・1740-1801〉は、京都下鴨社の祠官祐之〈すけゆき・1660-1724〉の孫。祐之から家職の下鴨神社祠官を継ぎ、正四位下・上総介に叙任される。冷泉為村〈れいぜいためむら・1712-74〉に和歌を学び、生涯に10万首を詠じたという。『一日千首』『かひの雫』など、多くの作品を残す。また、土佐派に教えを受け、絵画をも能くした。享和元年〈1801〉、62歳で没した。その書は、師為村の影響であろう、巧みな定家流である。歌題は別筆。
