尊鎮法親王〈そんちんほうしんのう・1504-50〉は、後柏原天皇〈ごかしわばらてんのう・1464-1526〉の第５皇子。永正９年〈1512〉９歳で青蓮院に入室。翌年親王宣下を受け、名を清彦（せいげん）と称す。その５日後には得度、法名を尊猷（そんゆう）と号したが、のち尊鎮と改めた。青蓮院第46代門跡。大永３年〈1523〉東山知恩院と百万遍知恩寺との論争に関わり、門跡を辞して高野山に隠退。のち、兄後奈良天皇〈ごならてんのう・1497-1557〉の迎えに応じて再び青蓮院に帰住した。その後、同天皇の護持僧となり、天文19年〈1550〉47歳で没した。好学で知られた親王は、『真如堂（しんにょどう）縁起』『当麻曼荼羅（たいままんだら）縁起』『桑実寺（くわのみでら）縁起』の絵巻の詞書執筆に加担するなど、当代一流の能書家であったことが知られる。その書は尊円流（青蓮院流）の流れを汲みながらも、書流系譜では、とくに法親王を流祖と仰ぐ「尊鎮流」の一派が立てられており、多くの追随者を輩出した。この短冊は、雲紙に金泥で龍文を刷り出した装飾料紙を使用する。
