尊伝法親王〈そんでんほうしんのう・1472-1504〉は、後土御門天皇〈ごつちみかど・1442-1500〉の第二皇子。文明８年〈1476〉８月25日、青蓮院門跡の尊応准后〈そんのうじゅごう・1432-1514〉の付弟となり、その28日に親王宣下を受けて、名を尊敦（たかあつ）と称した。同16年〈1484〉青蓮院に入室。長享２年〈1488〉薙髪、法諱を尊伝とした。ところが、明応２年〈1493〉には自ら青蓮院を去り、京都大原の八瀬に隠遁。翌３年、兄勝仁親王〈かつひとしんのう＝後柏原天皇・1464-1526〉の勧めに応じて一時帰任したが、文亀４年〈1504〉正月に病寂した。33歳であった。尊伝法親王は和歌や連歌に通じ、ことに書に優れた才能を発揮した。書風は尊円流（青蓮院流）に属し、その線質は柔らかさの中に強さをも含んだものである。
