良恕法親王〈りょうじょほうしんのう・1574-1643〉は誠仁親王〈さねひとしんのう＝陽光太上天皇・1552-86〉の第３皇子。後陽成天皇〈ごようぜいてんのう・1571-1617〉の弟。天正15年〈1587〉曼殊院（まんしゅいん）に入室。翌年11月に親王宣下を受け、勝輔（かつすけ）の名を賜った。この月得度して法諱を覚円とし、その後、良恕と改めた。慶長11年〈1606〉、北野社遷宮の際に別当として活躍、のち二品の位に昇る。寛永16年〈1639〉第170天台座主となった。その書は、持明院流の書法を宿したもの。この短冊の、定家流で書写された歌題は、冷泉為満〈れいぜいためみつ・1559-1619〉の筆である。
