『菩薩瓔珞本業経』（巻下・散品第八）の断簡。『菩薩瓔珞本業経』は、菩薩が守るべき修行を説いた経で、中国・日本の仏教に大きな影響を与えた経典といわれる。金銀の揉箔を全面に散らした装飾料紙に書写しており、温和な書風から平安時代後期・12世紀のものと推測される。このような装飾料紙での一切経は考えがたいので、おそらく単独に書写されたと思われる。伝存稀有な装飾経の遺品である。
