『阿弥陀経』は、浄土三部経（無量寿経・観無量寿経・阿弥陀経）のうち最も短く読誦に適するため、末法思想を背景に浄土信仰が盛んであった平安時代を中心に鎌倉時代初期にかけて広く書写された。これは、紺紙に金泥界を引き、経文も金字で書写する。専門の経師の筆跡と違って、自由な書きぶりは結縁者の自筆経であったと思われる。平安時代後期の書写と推定される。
