里村昌琢〈さとむらしょうたく・1574-1636〉は、江戸初期に活躍した連歌師。父は昌叱（しょうしつ）、母は紹巴（じょうは）の娘という連歌の名門に生まれた。初名は影敏（かげとし）。慶長４年〈1599〉頃、昌琢と改名。竹斎、懐恵庵、花の下、拝北庵と号す。同13年〈1608〉法橋に叙せられ、寛永３年〈1626〉には後水尾天皇〈ごみずのおてんのう・1596-1680〉より古今伝授を受けた。同５年〈1628〉、天下第一の宗匠として宮中御会の参会を許され、以後その職を世襲。また同９年〈1632〉には法眼に叙せられ、毎年御城連歌に加わることとなった。家集に『発句集』『類題名所和歌集』などがある。この短冊は、金銀泥の繊細な下絵に、量感のある筆線がよく調和している。
