中山親綱〈なかやまちかつな・1554-98〉は、孝綱（たかつな）の子。左少将・左中将・蔵人頭を歴任し、天正４年〈1576〉６月、当時はもっぱら藤原北家一族の就任を慣例としていた興福寺別当の人事をめぐり、勧修寺晴右（かじゅうじはるすけ）らが織田信長の意向に反対した事件に連座し、蟄居を命じられる。が、許されて後は権中納言（天正七年）・権大納言（天正10年）と進み、天正14年〈1586〉には正二位まで昇った。慶長３年〈1598〉11月28日、現役のまま55歳で没した。その書は、書流史上では三条西実隆の三条流に属するが、実隆よりやや堅さのある筆線である。この短冊の歌題は別筆。
