桑原長義〈くわばらながよし・1661-1737〉は、江戸時代の公卿。権大納言五条為庸の四男で、桑原家を起こした。享保10年〈1725〉権中納言に任ぜられ、同19年には正二位に進んだ。この詩懐紙は、重陽の節句で書かれたもの。長義は享保10年１月18日に権中納言になったのだが、同じ年の12月には辞任している。つまり、この懐紙はその年の９月９日に書かれたものである。「重陽に、同じく「人情皆向菊」ということを賦す詩「人」字を用いて便とす／権中納言菅原長義／金紫斕花案發辰籬辺日々露香新春来尽意待秋至都鄙幾多栽菊人」
