園基勝〈そのもとかつ・1663-1738〉は、江戸時代の公卿。准大臣園基福の子。母は中御門尚良のむすめ。正二位・権大納言まで昇り、のち正徳３年〈1713〉に剃髪し出家した。この懐紙も、権中納言であった基勝が、元禄９年〈1696〉正月９日の御会始で書いたものである。端作の歌題を見ると、冒頭「春日同……」の春と日の文字の「日」が「目」と書かれている。誤りか、あるいは故意なのかは、判然としない。「春の日、同じく「若菜、時を知る」ということを詠める和歌／権中納言藤原基勝／時をへて野辺の雪間に生若菜も御代の春やしるらむ」
