良恕法親王〈りょうじょほうしんのう・1574-1643〉は誠仁親王〈さねひとしんのう＝陽光太上天皇・1552-86〉の第三王子。母は新上東門院勧修寺晴子〈かじゅうじはるこ・1553-1620〉。天正15年〈1587〉曼殊院に入室し、翌年11月に親王宣下をうけ、勝輔を名乗った。が、同月、得度して覚円を号し、のち良恕と改めた。法親王は、慶長３年〈1598〉５月６日、25歳で持明院基孝から持明院流の書法を伝授された。やがて当代屈指の書き手として高名を謳われるようになる。この懐紙にも、その面目がよくうかがわれる。「「織女、久しきを契る」ということを詠める和謌／良恕／今日ごとにかはらで天津星合の空にや千々の秋をしるらむ」
