香川景樹〈かがわかげき・1768-1843〉は、江戸時代後期の歌人。鳥取の下級武士の家に生まれる。幼い頃から和歌に非凡の才を発揮し、京に上り香川景柄〈かげもと・1745-1821〉に就学した。29歳の時、景柄の養子となり、名を景徳、ついで景樹と改めた。桂園と号し、新歌論を展開、和歌革新を行なって幕末の歌壇をリードした。「歌はことわるものにあらず、調ぶるものなり」という、いわゆる「しらべの説」は有名である。著述も多く、『新学異見』・『百首異見』などの歌論、『桂園一枝』などの家集を著した。これは、和歌一首を記す詠草。枯れた筆で、筆線にわずかな震えがあり、晩年記の揮毫と思われる。「景樹／雪中の鴬梅が枝に雪は降れども鴬の声の春社（こそ）隠れざりけれ」

景樹雪中鴬梅が枝に雪はふれども鴬のこゑの春社かくれざりけれ
