中院通躬〈なかのいんみちみ・1668-1739〉は、江戸時代の公卿。内大臣中院通茂〈みちしげ・1631-1710〉の嗣子。母は小笠原左衛門佐源政信のむすめ。野宮家を嗣いだ定基〈ののみやさだもと・1669-1711〉、久世家を嗣いだ通夏〈くぜみちなつ・1670-1747〉らは弟である。かれの嗣子の通藤が６歳で夭折したため、久世通夏の息男・通枝を後嗣とした。通躬は父・通茂に歌学を受け、通茂の亡くなったのち、霊元院歌壇での重きを成し、江戸中期を代表する堂上歌人の一人となった。また、漢学を熊沢蕃山に学んだ。日記に『右槐御記』がある。これは三首の詠草。艶やかな筆さばきで書かれる。「通躬上／橋霞橋姫はいかに見るらむ言ひ知らず霞わたりて明くる河波／春雪さらに又春に降り添ふ雪ぞ憂き消ゆるをいつと思ふ垣根に／鴬為友友と聞く心を知るやうち解けて我が窓去らず鴬の鳴く」
