堯胤法親王〈ぎょういんほうしんのう・1457-1519〉は、伏見宮貞常親王の第二王子。邦高親王の弟。応仁２年〈1468〉12歳で三千院円融房に入室。やがて第39代三千院門跡となった。同院は別称を梶井門跡ということから、堯院法親王も梶井殿・梶井堯胤法親王と称される。のち、後花園天皇の猶子となり、文明３年〈1471〉に親王宣下を受けた。明応２年〈1493〉第161代天台座主となり、26年間、その任を務めた。父貞常親王の血脈を受けて、和歌・文筆にすぐれた。堯胤法親王の書風は、後柏原院流に属する。が、筆の穂先を自在にふるっての大胆な筆致は、型を踏襲しながらも、王者の寛綽が備わっている。「三首を詠める和歌／尭胤／禁庭雪古き世のためしもしるし笹竹の大宮人の袖の白雪／杜神楽ゆふかくる杜の下草おもかげの其駒うたふ霜に残りて／名所鶴松のみか鶴の上にも朝な夕な御代をぞ寄する志賀の浦波」
詠三首和歌 尭胤禁庭雪ふるき世のためしもしるしさゝ竹の大宮人の袖のしらゆき杜神楽ゆふかくるもりのしたくさおもかげの其駒うたふ霜にのこりて名所鶴松のみかたづのうへにもあさな夕な御代をぞよするしがのうらなみ
