元政〈げんせい・1623-68〉は、江戸時代前期の日蓮宗の僧侶。京都の人。梶井宮・毛利輝元に仕えた石井元好の五男。母が彦根藩主の乳母であった縁で、13歳から彦根藩主井伊直孝に近侍した。やがて病をわずらい、退仕して、26歳のとき出家。妙顕寺日豊に参じた。出家後は元政と号し、また妙子・泰堂・不可思議・草山和尚などとも号した。洛南深草に瑞光寺を建立し住したため、深草の元政といわれた。漢詩文と和歌を能くし、学識高い文人僧として知られる。歌学を松永貞徳に、漢学を熊沢蕃山に学び、石川丈山や陳元贇らとも広く交わったという。書は大師流に長じていた。これは、七言絶句と和歌一首を書く懐紙。大師流の書風で書かれたもの。「磨礪心境浮萬影、更絶妙智亡妙境、魔界仏界同一如、白雲深處明月静。一群の雲さへ秋の光にてくまなき空に澄める月影／草山不可思議（印「泰堂」）（印「妙子」）（印「元政」）」
