水無瀬氏成〈みなせうじなり・1571-1644〉は、兼成〈かねなり・1514-1602〉の子。累進して正二位・権中納言に至る。水無瀬の家名は、藤原道隆（藤原道長の長兄）から６代のちの藤原親信〈ふじわらのちかのぶ・1137-97〉が、山城国水無瀬の地に住んだことに由来する。氏成は、その親信から数えて14代の後裔。氏成は、このような詠草のほかに、懐紙・短冊・手紙などを残している。かならずしも能筆とはいいがたいが、独特の味わい深い書風を示す。この詠草もまた、そのような書風のもの。自在な運筆を展開する。潤滑の兼ね合いが、枯淡の表情をただよわせており、一種特有の墨の美を示している。文政８年〈1825〉夏、大倉好斎〈おおくらこうさい・1795-1863。大倉汲水の長男〉による極札一葉が付属する。「郭公を待つ／氏成／けふ毎に待は久しき心さへふりせぬ物はほととぎす哉」
