Hino Toshimoto (?-1332) was a courtier aristocrat during the Kamakura Period. He served closely to Emperor Godaigo (1288-1339) and participated in the Emperor’s ill-fated rebellion against the Kamakua Shogunate (military government), with Hino Suketomo (1290-1332) and others. When the conspiracy was discovered in 1324, Hino Toshimoto was arrested by the Rokuhara Tandai (government’s police/judiciary arm) in what was called the Shochu-no-Hen, or the Shochu Rebellion. In 1331, Hino Toshimoto again joined the campaign to subvert the military government but was captured in the Genko-no-Hen, or the Genko Rebellion, and executed in Kamakura in June 1332.In this letter, Hino Toshimoto gave someone proper suggestion for the order of the ceremony.
