『ニウギニア土俗品図集』において「杖」と記載されて以来、慶應大でも当資料は杖として登録してきた。実際、輪の部分を把手とする直杖と見なすことも出来なくはない。しかし類例検索を行う中で、当資料が斧の柄である可能性が高まった。シカゴ・フィールド博物館にはルイスが収集ないし小嶺以外から購入したコレクションが存在する。その中には片端に輪状の構造を持ち、全体に籐が巻き付けられた直杖形の資料が存在する。その輪に石は製斧頭が装着されており、当該資料は斧として登録されている。これらの情報から、長らく杖として登録されてきた当資料を斧頭が脱落した柄として再登録した。

As a prototype feature, the Keio Object Hub uses AI (machine learning) to generate keywords for searches and filtering.
For the first launch, Google Cloud's Vision API will be used to analyze the images of each object and automatically generate keywords.
