鉤形の台座に立つ男性像。堅木を用いた一木造りで、見た目以上に重量感がある。頭頂部の結髪には天井
から吊るすための紐穴が穿たれている。切れ長の目で目尻は上がり、眉間隆起が強い。鼻は高く、唇が厚い。
面長ではっきりとした顔立ちの若者に見える。体幹部は胸囲よりも腹囲が太い。肘と膝を少し折り曲げて、
身構えるような姿勢をとる。下肢の下端外側に取ってつけたように足指が刻まれている。背面を見ると肩甲
骨周辺には斑文が彫刻されており、これは通過儀礼を終えた男子のタトゥーを模したものと考えられる。台
座にはワニの頭部を模した彫刻が認められる。セピック河中流域からは同種の精霊像付鉤が数多く収集され
ており、そのうち小型のものは日常使いで、大型のものは儀礼に用いられたと言われる。日常用はネズミな
どの害獣や子どもの悪戯から守るために、大切な品物や食料を網袋に入れて鉤部に吊るした。儀礼用はかつ
て、戦や狩りの際に精霊や祖霊と交感し、有難い託宣を得るために供物を吊るしたという。

For the first launch, Google Cloud's Vision API will be used to analyze the images of each object and automatically generate keywords.
