戒体箱（かいたいばこ）は、経箱に類似する長方形の蓋付、合口造の形につくられ、密教灌頂の三昧耶戒場（さんまやかいじょう）において、戒文などの必要な文書を納める箱。通常は輪宝（りんぽう）や羯磨（かつま）などの密教法具を装飾文とするが、本品は、蓋表の中央に牡丹、四隅に蝶、側面には蓮華の各文様の金銅飾金具を配している。下方には格座間（こうざま）を透かした床脚を具備する。
