これは金銅鈴である。下方の鈴身、中途の把（手でにぎる部分）、上方の鈷の三部から形成される。鈷は独鈷・三鈷・五鈷・宝珠鈷など、さまざまな形に分かれるところから、呼び名を異にする。これは、中央の中鈷と、四周の脇鈷４つから５つの鈷を成すところから、五鈷鈴と通称する。修法（すほう）の時に、僧がこれを振り鳴らして、さまざまの仏菩薩を驚覚し、歓喜せしめる。また、眠れる仏心を呼びさます意味で行法に転用するものである。おのずと時代相応の形姿を示している。
