The wheel-shaped rimbo (or rimpo) was originally a round and bladed Indian weapon, which was hurled at an enemy likea discus. The Longer Aagama Sutra (Jp: Jo-Agon-Kyo) describes a wheel-turning king following the rotating wheel, and all countries in its path converted themselves to uphold the Buddhist law. A symbol for defeating enemies since ancient times, the rimbo was adopted as a ritual implement in Esoteric Buddhism.
