This mirror bears a very unusual design in which a landscape can be viewed as if looking through a small peephole shaped like a kemari, an ancient football. This unique design, however, was not popular since similar finds are rare. The base pattern consists of linked arcs, also described as “interlinked circles.” A circle cut into four equal arcs, as such, is called a shippo motif, perhaps after the term for “four directions,” which is pronounced “shiho” in Japanese.

As a prototype feature, the Keio Object Hub uses AI (machine learning) to generate keywords for searches and filtering.
For the first launch, Google Cloud's Vision API will be used to analyze the images of each object and automatically generate keywords.
