This mirror is decorated with six circular groupings of stylized plants and flowers, which show some influence of the Buddhist art of China. Known to have originated from the palmette pattern, depicting palm leaves, the clustered-flower pattern was brought into China from western areas. One can see in these designs the brisk exchange of culture between East and West during an ancient dynasty.
