On this mirror, coiled dragons are carved, almost filling up the entire inner band, but parts of their bodies are hidden under the central knob. On similar mirrors, sometimes the dragons’ heads appear like those of tigers and, thus, the name “dragon and tiger mirror.” The generic name of the piece shown here is “mirror with coiled-dragon motif.”
