When working with copper, it was sometimes necessary to lower its melting point. To achieve this, ancient craftsmen added varying amounts of tin to molten copper. An added benefit is that tin atoms fill the miniscule atomic gaps in copper, thus making an overall stronger metal, while copper and tin are soft metals. The exhibited mirror, however, is made of pure tin.

As a prototype feature, the Keio Object Hub uses AI (machine learning) to generate keywords for searches and filtering.
For the first launch, Google Cloud's Vision API will be used to analyze the images of each object and automatically generate keywords.
