The concentric inner band seen here is decorated with beast designs. Similar mirrors are sometimes decorated with four to eight nipples, but usually seven nipples, while a string of pearl-like balls, a four-leaf pattern, or coiled dragons decorate the area surrounding the central knob. The rim is often decorated with saw-tooth patterns, clouds, or arabesque designs.
