The exhibit shows a bronze sutra cylinder with a heaped lid. The double-tiered, raised lid sits snugly on top of the cylindrical body. The lid’s outer brim stretches out widely. A band decorates the cylinder’s brim. A large knob is fitted to the lid’s center. The design of this sutra cylinder shows that it was most likely unearthed from a sutra mound (kyozuka) in northern Kyushu.
