In ancient times, Japanese people had a special affinity for reeds and went so far as to call their country the “Land of Reeds and Rice”. As such, the plant, a hallmark of the desolate late-autumn fields, was a favorite theme in literature and works of art, especially in combination with white egrets.

As a prototype feature, the Keio Object Hub uses AI (machine learning) to generate keywords for searches and filtering.

For the first launch, Google Cloud's Vision API will be used to analyze the images of each object and automatically generate keywords.
