一絲文守〈いっしぶんしゅ・1608-46〉は、江戸時代前記の臨済宗の僧。久我具堯〈くがともたか・?-1633〉の第３子。桐江・閑夢・耕閑などを号した。はじめ相国寺の雪岑、南宗寺の沢庵に参禅、寛永３年〈1626〉洛西槇尾の賢俊律師について出家した。その後、再び沢庵に師事、禅学をきわめた。とくに後水尾上皇の帰依深く、寛永15年〈1638〉賀茂に霊源寺、同18年〈1641〉丹波に法常寺を創建、その開山となった。また、同20年からは近江の永源寺の住持として寺の復興につとめ、中興の祖とされた。が、正保３年〈1646〉39歳で没した。禅宗界の名匠としてかずかずの著書をあらわしその博覧強記ぶりを発揮する一方、烏丸光広〈からすまるみつひろ・1579-1638〉・小堀遠州〈こぼりえんしゅう・1579-1647〉・近衛信尋〈このえのぶひろ・1599-1649〉・松花堂昭乗〈しょうかどうしょうじょう・1584-1639〉など、当代きっての文化人と親交を結び、茶道に通じ、詩文に長じ、さらに書画に秀でた。書は、一休和尚の風趣を伝え、画は松花堂にその画法を学び瀟洒な作品を残している。この蘆雁図もそのひとつ。月夜、蘆の茂みに今まさに舞い降りんとする雁を捉えた構図。羽の模様と動きの一瞬を鮮やかに描き出している。秋も深まったころ北国から飛来する雁は、古来、花鳥画の恰好の画題として描かれてきた。
