狩野之信（生没年未詳。天正３年〈1575〉63歳で没の説あり）は、室町時代末期の狩野派の画家であるが、詳しい伝歴は不明。狩野元信〈かのうもとのぶ・1476-1559〉の弟で雅楽助と称し、輞隠と号したという。代表作として「四季耕作図襖絵」（京都・大徳寺大仙院蔵）が知られる。本図の主題となる鷹は、鷲とならぶ猛禽の雄とされ、その勇猛精悍の姿が戦国武将の心意気と合致して多くの作品が残されている。柏樹の雄大な幹にがっしりと食い込んだ鷹の爪先、鋭い眼差し、柔らかな羽毛の表現など堂々たる姿に描く。兄の元信筆と伝える「花鳥図」などにも共通する描法が感じ取れる。「之信」の壺形印が捺される。

For the first launch, Google Cloud's Vision API will be used to analyze the images of each object and automatically generate keywords.
