一見して、室町時代の水墨山水画である。筆者を曽我秀文と伝える。秀文は、江戸時代の画史によると、李朝時代の朝鮮から来日した絵師で、越前朝倉氏に仕える曽我氏に婿入り、絵師として仕えたという。相国寺の画僧・周文に似た画法である。賛者の花塢鐵庵については、一切が不明。
