Takebe Ayatari (1719-74) was a haikai (haiku) and waka poet, painter, and scholar of Japanese classics in mid-Edo period. He was born into a samurai familly serving Hirosaki clan (Today Aomori prefecture), but he avoided the feudal system, and became a wandering artist.
