古筆家3代了祐(1645ー1684)は2代了栄の8男です。初名は八兵衛で名は定香、号は即性庵直空です。金森宗和に茶を学んだと伝えられます。この短冊は、やはり上藍・下紫の定式で雲紙を使用し、「夏菊の露や蛍にまさり草 定香」と俳諧の発句を記しています。「まさり草」は菊の異名です。金泥の霞は後入れの可能性が高そうです。付属する日永可敬の極札には、俳諧師野々口立圃(1595ー1669)の弟子井上友貞(1626ー?)の門弟で、友貞撰の俳諧撰集『唐人躍』に入集すること、「英陸」の名もあることが記されており貴重です。この他、筆者未詳の簡略な鑑定書「正筆書」や、no.29と同じサンフランシスコ平和条約締結の年の彼岸の日に記した13代了信の極札も備わっています。可敬の極札の存在からすると、代々相伝のものではなさそうです。（佐々木）
