稲生若水〈いのうじゃくすい・1655-1715〉は、江戸時代中期の儒者・本草学者。名は宣義（のぶよし）。医学を父・稲生恒軒〈いのうこうけん・1610-1680〉と福山徳潤〈ふくやまとくじゅん・生没年未詳〉に、儒学を木下順庵〈きのしたじゅんあん・1621-1699〉について修めた。が、幼少時からの動植物に対する興味が、かれを本草学の道に導き、関係書物の読破とともに山野に足を運ぶ実地研鑽につとめた。こうした学問への真摯な取り組みが加賀国金沢藩主・前田綱紀〈まえだつなのり・1643-1724〉に認められ、元禄６年〈1693〉に金沢藩儒臣として召し抱えられた。その後京都に仮寓して研究に専心することが許され、以後かずかずの本草の著述をまとめた。日本の博物学の興隆を促した功績は特筆される。この一行書「輝光月を逐って新なり」は、若水の伝存稀有の存在。強靱な筆力、剛毅な筆致が魅力の作品である。輝光が月を逐うごとに新鮮である、の意。

For the first launch, Google Cloud's Vision API will be used to analyze the images of each object and automatically generate keywords.
