里村紹巴〈さとむらじょうは・1524-1602〉は、桃山時代の連歌師。本性は松村氏で、臨江斎（りんこうさい）・宝珠庵（ほじゅあん）・半醒子（はんせいし）と号した。奈良の貧家の生まれながら、連歌師周桂（しゅうけい）、里村昌休〈しょうきゅう・1511-52〉に師事し、里村家の幼い昌叱〈1539-1603〉に代わって家督を継いだ。古今伝授を近衛稙家〈たねいえ・1503-66〉に受け、千利休〈せんのりきゅう・1522-91〉より茶の湯を学ぶ。織田信長〈おだのぶなが・1534-82〉・豊臣秀吉〈とよとみひでよし・1536-98〉など時の権力者に近侍するが、文禄４年〈1595〉、豊臣秀次〈とよとみひでつぐ・1568-95〉の聚楽第公金流用事件に関連して失脚、三井寺に謹慎となる。のち、赦されて帰洛。79歳で没した。『連歌至宝抄』『紹巴富士見道記』などの著書がある。この短冊は、歌題に示すように、紹巴73三歳、三井寺で謹慎生活を始めて翌年の書である。一字一字を丁寧に書きとめているが、線にふるえがみられ、いかにも晩年の執筆（79歳で没）であることを感じさせる。
