醍醐冬基〈だいごふゆもと・1648-97〉は、五摂家の一つ、関白一条昭良〈いちじょうあきよし・1605-72。後陽成天皇の第９皇子〉の二男。醍醐と号し、醍醐家の祖となる。正二位・権大納言に至る。冬基生前より、その子昭尹〈あきただ・1679-1756〉は、復古和様の先駆者たる近衛家煕〈このえいえひろ・1667-1736〉から書法相伝を受けるほど親密な師弟関係にあったことから、冬基と家熙との交流も想像される。この短冊は、雲紙に、冷泉為頼〈れいぜいためより・1592-1627〉の筆による題「変契恋」の和歌を詠んで書写したもの。家熙の影響を受けたであろう、伸びやかな上代様の筆致が展開されている。短冊上部中央に、紙捻（こより）で綴じた際の穴痕が残る。
