花山院忠長〈かざんいんただなが・1588-1662〉は、左大臣定煕〈さだひろ・1558-1634〉の二男。順調な昇進を遂げたが、慶長14年〈1609〉、22歳で遠く蝦夷の地へ流罪の身となった。原因は、鳥丸光広〈からすまるみつひろ・1579-1638〉らとともに、宮廷の女官とひき起こした集団姦淫事件であった。流謫生活25年ののち、寛永13年〈1636〉赦されて武蔵国に移り住んだ。この時すでに49歳。剃髪して浄屋（じょうおく）と号し、慶安５年〈1652〉帰洛。10年後の寛文２年〈1562〉９月26日、75歳で没した。この短冊は、「忠長」という署名から、事件以前、おそらく10代の頃のものと思われる。彼の書は、事件に連座した徳大寺実久〈とくだいじさねひさ・1583-1617。実は花山院定煕の長男。忠長の兄〉とともに、近衛流（三藐院流）に分類される。歌題は別筆。

As a prototype feature, the Keio Object Hub uses AI (machine learning) to generate keywords for searches and filtering.
