冷泉為満〈れいぜいためみつ・1559-1619〉は、冷泉為益〈れいぜいためます・1516-70〉の子。幼名は為房（ためふさ）。若年の頃、正親町天皇〈おおぎまちてんのう・1517-93〉の勅勘を蒙り、以後不遇に過ごす。慶長17年〈1612〉、54歳にしてようやく参議となり、元和４年〈1618〉に権大納言に至った。為満は歌道師範の家柄にあり、慶長19年〈1614〉には、駿府で徳川家康〈とくがわいえやす・1543-1616〉のために『古今和歌集』を伝授したという。この短冊は藍と紫の雲紙に書写したもの。冷泉家は代々、遠祖藤原定家〈ふじわらのさだいえ・1162-1241〉に倣った定家流の書を受け継いでおり、為満もその特徴的な書風に巧みであった。
