藤谷為賢〈ふじがやつためかた・1593-1653〉は、冷泉為満〈れいぜいためみつ・1559-1619〉の二男。のち、一家を起して藤谷をと称し、歌道を家業とした。慶長11年〈1606〉６月５日、14歳で叙爵。寛永11年〈1634〉権中納言に至った。承応２年〈1653〉７月11日、61歳で没。冷泉家流の注釈『古今鈔』を、曼殊院（まんしゅいん）の良恕法親王〈りょうじょほうしんのう・1574-1643〉に授けたことが知られる。その書は、書流系譜によれば、父為満ともども定家流の書き手として掲げられる。が、この短冊にはわずか二、三字にその片鱗が見えるのみである。定家流に終始する遺墨も伝存することから、全面的に定家流に傾倒する以前、すなわち、若年期の書写ではなかったか。
