冷泉政為〈れいぜいまさため・1445-1523〉は、下冷泉家の始祖・持為〈もちため・1401-54〉の子。正二位・権大納言に至る。はじめ成為（なりため）と名乗ったが、足利義政〈あしかがよしまさ・1436-90〉から一字を賜り、政為と改名した。法名は暁覚。歌道では冷泉流の歌人として当時の歌壇に重きをなし、皇室・将軍家の歌会の題者となることが多かった。その家集『碧玉（へきぎょく）集』（６巻）は、同時代の後柏原天皇〈ごかしわばらてんのう・1464-1526〉の『柏玉（はくぎょく）集』、三条西実隆〈さんじょうにしさねたか・1455-1537〉の『雪玉（せつぎょく）集』とともに「三玉集」と称され、もてはやされた。書は、飛鳥井雅親〈あすかいまさちか・1417-90〉の書流である栄雅流に属する。この短冊は「暁覚」と署しており、出家後68歳以降の晩年期の筆と知る。『碧玉集』に収められる歌である。歌題は別筆。
